FAQ
What do you experience post session that validates the legitimacy of energy healing?
Although it varies from person to person, a deeply relaxed state of being, deep sleep, anxiety disappears, physical injuries feel better, new sense of peace and wellbeing. Being very thirsty after is also common, energy healing is so subtle, yet so powerful.
Where does the energy come from?
Reiki energy comes from the Higher Power, which exists on a higher dimension than the physical world we are familiar with. When viewed clairvoyantly, Reiki energy appears to come down from above and to enter the top of the practitioners head after which if flows through the body and out the hands. It appears to flow this way because of our perspective. However, the true source of Reiki energy is within ourselves. This does not mean that we use our personal energy when we do Reiki, but that the energy is coming from a transcendental part of ourselves that is connected to an infinite supply of healing energy.
What can I expect?
Expect to spend the entire session lying fully clothed on a treatment table. You may be on your back for the full session, or the practitioner may have you roll onto your stomach at some point.
The goal of the session is relaxation, so there likely won’t be much talking (though that may depend on the practitioner). It’s important, however, that you tell the practitioner if you need any adjustments at any point during the session.
Your comfort is the most important thing, so if you’re uncomfortable for any reason, like if you’re too hot or cold, or the position you’re lying in is uncomfortable, I ask you to let me know,I keeps blankets and pillows near the treatment table in case people get cold or need a lift under their knees.
What are the origins?
Mrs. Hawayo Takata (Takata Sensei) brought Reiki from Japan to the West in 1937 and continued to practice and teach until her passing in 1980. Because of her devotion, Reiki has been passed on to millions of people all over the world, and the numbers continue to grow! And as you will see, if it wasn’t for her, Reiki most likely would never have been discovered by the West and even in Japan would have been practiced secretly by only a small number of people.
A Japanese method of energy healing. Intuitively guided and working with the subtle energy body through light touch. This allows insight into unblocking emotions or physical ailments that are held subconsciously.

A Reiki session is a unique experience for everyone, but you may feel certain sensations when receiving Reiki. Common sensations are heat, tingling, pulsing and cold, just to name a few. Some people feel no sensation of any kind at all. Sensations, or the absence of it, simply relate to the person’s sensitivity to energy. Reiki flows regardless of whether you feel it or not. However, feelings of deep relaxation are usually felt by all. In addition, many feel a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and surrounds them. As the Reiki energy encourages one to let go of all tension, anxiety, fear or other negative feelings a state of peace and well-being is experienced. Some drift off to sleep or report floating outside their bodies or have visions and other mystical experiences. At the end of the treatment, one feels refreshed with a more positive, balanced outlook.
Does the moon alter the energy healing?
Healing can happen at any stage, but the moon affects everything, if the moon is affecting the tides and we are 75% water, how could it not affect us? I always take the seasons and moon phases into consideration. The full moon always holds such potent releasing energy and the new moon- new beginnings in my eyes.
What Should You Wear to a Reiki Session?
Wear comfortable clothes that you can relax in. I recommend dressing in layers so you can add or remove clothing during the session, if needed.
